A junior at Indiana University majoring in International Studies and Neuroscience, Iman Mahoui’s extracurriculars include mentoring students through the School of Global and International Studies mentor collective, engaging with refugees in central Indiana through IU’s No Lost Generation chapter, and continuing her Neuroscience research under the lab of Dr. Sengelaub. As a member of Indiana University’s congress and chair of the student relation’s committee, she passed bills and promoted agenda’s to further each students academic and social experience at Indiana University.
In her spare time, she also volunteers as a tutor in the Arabic department. This is her third year as a student editorial board member in the IU Journal of Undergraduate Research, developing since her freshman year, sustaining an annual, student-run, faculty-mentored undergraduate research publication for Indiana University. Finally, as a member of the merit-based Wells scholarship program, Indiana University’s most prestigious merit scholarship, she contributes to the publication of a yearly newsletter that documents the achievements of Wells scholars across the world.
