Brock Glaser- Natural Sciences Board Chair
Brock is a senior Cox Research Scholar from Evansville, Indiana, majoring in Biology and serving as the natural sciences board chair for the 2020-2021 academic year. Brock hopes to to attend medical school to both work clinically and conduct research, and he is involved in a neuroscience lab, Phi Delta Epsilon, Biology Club, teaching as a UTA for biology courses, and volunteering.
Kelli Michaels
Kelli is a senior studying Math and Physics. She has been an IUJUR staff member for three years and has been highly involved in the Research Day outreach event.
Hana Shafique
Hana Shafique is a junior Wells Scholar from Carmel, Indiana. As part of the IU STARS (Science, Technology, and Research Scholars) program, she is a member of the Mackie Neuroscience lab where she studies the endocannabinoid system. She has also conducted bioinformatics research at Eli Lilly and Company and has interned at the Stark Neurosciences Research Institute at the IU School of Medicine. Alongside IUJUR, Hana is the Director of WAVE (Wells Activism and Volunteer Effort), on the OVPUE (Office of the Vice Product for Undergraduate Education) study advisory board, and a member of the TEDxIndianaUniversity curation team.
Jordan Cruse
Jordan is a senior from Jeffersonville, Indiana majoring in Neuroscience and Biochemistry with minors in Spanish and Music. He is currently pursuing an Honors thesis in Neuroscience under Dr. Anne Prieto, whose lab focuses on neuronal cell signaling involving receptor tyrosine kinases. In addition to being an editorial board member for IUJUR, he is also an organic chemistry tutor, an undergraduate teaching intern for biochemistry, and one of the Co-Presidents of U Bring Change to Mind (UBC2M), which is an organization dedicated to eliminating the stigma surrounding mental illness on campus. After graduation, he hopes to attend medical school.
Rachel Kalbfell
Rachel is a senior from Westfield, IN, studying biochemistry with minors in Spanish and communication and public advocacy. She is a member of the Kawata lab studying clinical neurotrauma with a focus in subconcussive head impacts. Alongside IUJUR, Rachel is also involved with the Hoosier Scholar Ambassadors and Hutton Ambassadors and loves representing IU! In her free time, Rachel enjoys cycling and rides for a women's Little 500 team.
Muskaan Ramchandani
Muskaan Ramchandani is a sophomore from Carmel, IN pursuing majors in Neuroscience and Biology. Her passion for science and research is fueled by her role as a research assistant in the Winkler Laboratory, where she studies cell wall biosynthesis and bacterial pathogenesis. Outside of IUJUR, she is heavily involved in her community through the Middle Way House, The Mask Project at IU, and Hutton Honors Council Association. In her spare time, Muskaan loves to eat dark chocolate, travel, and spend time with friends.
Julian Spangler
Julian is a sophomore from Noblesville, Indiana studying Chemistry and Mathematics. He performs research on fungicides through the ASURE program. After graduating, he plans to join a graduate program in organic chemistry. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, running, and hiking.
Anjali Dziarski
Hi, my name is Anjali Dziarski. I am a Sophomore majoring in Physics. For fun, I enjoy singing opera, dancing, watching anime, and learning about gender studies. I'm excited for another year of being in IUJUR!
