Joelle Jackson
Joelle Jackson is a sophomore Wells Scholar from Bloomington, Indiana, and is currently pursuing majors in Anthropology and Folklore + Ethnomusicology. Outside of IUJUR, she is a member of the Folklore and Ethnomusicology Student Association, a Fall 2021 intern with Themester, and a 2021 intern with the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage. Beyond academics, Joelle enjoys studying ballet through the elective program at IU.
Luke Swain
Luke Swain is a sophomore from Columbus, Indiana studying Economics and Studio Art. He’s currently conducting research alongside Dr. Vivek Vellanki at the Center for Research on Race and Ethnicity in Society. He’s also a part of several clubs at IU like Students for a New Green World and the Beekeeping club and he loves to draw, work with ceramics, and take care of his plants in his free time.
Kemal Perdana
Kemal is a sophomore from South Bend, IN majoring in Economics and Sociology. His academic interests include labor organizing, economic inequality, and the labor market. Aside from IUJUR, he is involved with the Young Democratic Socialists of America Bloomington and WIUX Bloomington, IU’s largest student media organization. He is also a research assistant at the Center for Research on Race and Ethnicity in Society. In his free time, he enjoys reading, cooking, and vintage or archival fashion.
Tessa Muller
Tessa Muller is a sophomore from Zionsville, Indiana. She is studying Spanish and Linguistics with a minor in Sociology. This is her second year with IUJUR.
McGuire Wolfe
McGuire is the Social Sciences Board Chair. He is from the panhandle of Florida and studying biochemistry. He loves to race bikes domestically and in the Little 500 with his time outside of school. He plans to continue his education with graduate school after undergrad.
Jassen Yep
Jassen is a junior from Saratoga, California. He is double majoring in sociology and economics with a minor in Chinese. Outside of IUJUR, he is also on the IU swim and dive team and is involved with Students for Advocacy and Awareness in Sociology. In his free time, he enjoys reading and cooking.
Wei Wang
Wei Wang is a junior majoring in Linguistics and Journalism and minoring in Spanish. He is from Shanghai, China. He is a news editor at the Indiana Daily Student and looks forward to applying the skills acquired from his studies and experiences in whatever future path he embarks on.

Olivia Balbo
From Munster Indiana, Olivia Balbo is in her freshman year at IU Bloomington studying epidemiology. In the future she hopes to attend medical school and earn her MD. Along with IUJUR she is a staff member of the Queer Collective and the THRIVE living learning community.
Anne Noble
Anne Noble is a senior from Scottsburg, Indiana majoring in Psychology and Italian with a minor in European Studies. Her main research interest is the experience of migrants entering Italy, focusing particularly on the laws and public discourse regarding immigration. Outside of the journal, she is a mentor for The Mentor Collective and also serves as an ambassador to the Italian program at IU. She will be attending law school next fall, and she is particularly excited about studying international law.
Komal Kumar
Komal is a junior from South Bend, IN. She is double majoring in Biochemistry and Political Science/Economics, with a minor in Spanish. Outside of the journal, Komal is involved with student organizations like Women in Economics and the Med Poets Society, and works as a CommUnity Educator in the residence halls. Currently, she is working on a research project alongside Dr. William Bianco, studying the distribution and county-level impact of COVID-19 relief funds during the pandemic. In her free time, Komal enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends!
